Building Permits and Inspections

The Building Permits and Inspections Department will strive to assist you with your construction project in an efficient and accountable manner. They are responsible for permitting all construction and conducting inspections of all construction-related permits as well as issuance of Certificates of Occupancy.

The Building Permits and Inspections Department is responsible for:

  • Conducting building construction inspections
  • Issuing building permits
  • Issuing certificates of occupancy
  • Reviewing building plans

To obtain a permit for both residential and commercial uses, simply give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.

Permits are Required for the Following:

  • Construction - New Construction, Remodel and or Additions
  • Fences
  • Foundation
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing Installs
  • Gas Installs
  • Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installs / Replacement of A/C or FurnaceHook Up to natural gas
  • All Manufactured Homes Moving in or out of the City
  • All Storage Buildings Moving in or out of the City

**Call 811 before you dig or place a building**

If you are a Contractor, doing any business in New Boston, you MUST have an up-to-date license and Liabilty Insurance on file at City Hall.
Permits will not be issued, nor Inspections assigned unless we have all necessary paperwork from you.
